It was on my 8th Grade field trip to Washington DC that I snapped this picture of Senator Kennedy. Like so many 8th grade classes before me, I sat on the steps of the US Capitol while he talked to my classmates. We were from Massachusetts and he made time for even the youngest of constituents. What he said that day...I have no idea. All I knew was that it was IMPORTANT that I had photographic evidence that I had met the man. That my Nana would be very happy about such things.
I'm not sure why I have kept this photo all these years. Is it partially based on the fact that I think The Nana would want me to? Yes. Is it because I want to hold on to a little piece of Kennedy lore? Perhaps.
