Has anyone seen this? A website devoted to making fun of crafts...Regretsy.
Admittedly, I feel bad giggling over people's crafty work, but come one, look at some of this stuff. Go to the cat section. Seriously? Seriously.
Just a friendly reminder that people are weird. And now you have another site to make you chuckle when you've already read all of FML.
ps....if you've already read all the Cute Overload, you can check out ZooBorns.

searching
I have been sitting on my couch for about an hour and a half. To my credit I am also watching the Red Sox, not just watching trashy teen dramas and voraciously devouring the internet. Well, except that I have been consumed by the internet to the detriment of everything else. And yes, this includes actually paying attention to the game. Why? I have once again decided that I would like to go on a vacation. So herein commences “the great vacation search”. This is now a yearly event where I open many tabs in my web browser and compare all credible travel sites while looking at the balance in my bank account. Occasionally, I close the bank account tab and pretend I am fabulously wealthy, but I am far too pragmatic for that game to last very long. Right now I am wishing I had pushed the Husband harder about 3 weeks ago when I spotted an amazing cruise deal. Sadly, that deal is long gone and he is right, I should really focus my attention elsewhere. Which leads in to the next topic....
The couch I have been sitting on is now totally uncomfortable. According to my mother who sells furniture for a living, couches are only meant to last 5-6 years. I never would have believed her but I now realize that this one has hit the point of no return. The husband asked if I was going to commence a “great furniture search” on the internet tonight. I just might do that. Depends on how long this game goes. Somehow I am guessing this search will end the same way.

today...
this kid that i work with commented to my boss that i was very "hollywood". perhaps he has never met me or he is just easily fooled by people who wear big dark sunglasses.
i drove the husband's car to work in sandals. this resulted in me stalling only once at a big intersection when said sandal slipped off the clutch. embarrassment was heightened by the fact that i had a coworker in the car with me. the sudden stall at the moment the light turned green produced two high-pitched screams from both of us. the shame.
i announced to the husband that i was going to head upstairs and do some yoga. he responded by saying "i am going to eat some ice cream and take my pants off". i believe i laughed for about 5 minutes. he is just adorable- or i am way easy.

yankee swap
some places of business don't get into the holidays. mine does. we have a "holiday party" where everyone shows up wearing red and says 'merry christmas'. we usually put a tree up in our reception area and we have an annual pot-luck luncheon where we gather around and eat a ton of food and those of us who wish take part in our annual yankee swap.
each year the swap starts out all nice and people are too polite to swap gifts away but as the game wears on people start to get more into it. there is gift-hiding under the table thereby employing the 'out of sight out of mind technique'. i didn't have to hide my gift. i kept it on my lap the whole time. i was lucky because i drew a crap number (5) but i still didn't have to fight anyone off. not like emily who pulled the scratch tickets, or ellen who pulled the bottle of chardonnay. i didn't even have to defend myself against david who pulled the coveted #1. he was after the smart-mug (sort of). nope- i pulled myself a pig out the gift pile. she's cute, don't you think?

virtual gift
the only things the husband wanted me to bring home from disney as a souvenir were items that didn't travel well or i refused to purchase. it is for this reason that i am giving the husband the souvenirs from my travels via this blog.
here you go murph....i have to warn you that one of these pictures is gross....

similar, no?
I was looking through the photos from Florida and I realized that I walked by this Food Festival sign about 10 times- I even took a picture of it- but I never saw the "cheese and grapes" until I got home. Sometimes it's good to step back, pay attention to something else and then return to your original focus with a pair of fresh eyes.
