Winter Solstice is 12/22/06

Few words describe the light displays at christmas time accurately enough to write them down. I felt that it was better and we would all be much better served by looking at the cream of crop in the neighborhood here.

As much as I jest about people's light displays in their yards- I actually love them. I believe that the people who spend the time and energy to put up that much wattage have somehow- in a very modern way- embraced the spirit of the winter solstice. Whether it is knowingly or unknowingly they have in fact allowed light into the winter nights and most if not all will burn the longest on the longest evening in the calender. Its very traditional in a weird sort of way.
